The Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) Maritime Campus was set in 1989 with a view to cater to the growing pool of seafarers from Sri Lanka who were in need of training to make themselves competent for employment aboard foreign vessels. CINEC has also complemented Ceyline’s crew recruitment efforts by providing the necessary training facilities for those who require it.
In addition to providing the necessary training, CINEC has been instrumental in raising the training standards that meet present day international shipping industry requirements.
CINEC is Sri Lanka’s largest private higher education institute located just outside Colombo. The Maritime campus has received the following quality management certifications,
Over 14,000 students have followed CINEC courses to date and new recruits annually follow over 175 educational and training programs. CINEC’s student body is constantly reaching new heights in varied areas of the shipping industry. All of our students are treated with professionalism and helped in all possible ways in their quest to be top professionals in the shipping industry.
CINEC is also involved in cadet training where we offer such services to principals who require it. Cadets who complete their first Certificate of Competency sign a bond with Ceyline Shipping and work with a principal for a minimum period of two years. Our retention rate of this exclusive pool of junior officers is as high as ninety-five.
